Muffler Only

I had a old Flowmaster 40 series (3 chamber), and decided it was too loud in the cab. I then bought a new Magnaflow 18" body off eBay (performance peddler) for $45 + $40 install and I LOVE IT! So for $85 I had a new sound, a few more MPG's and a few more horse's under the hood. That's my 2 cents.

Im looking into the 18" Magnaflow, which Part number muffler did you get? there are many different ones, and it doesn't hurt to ask.

Also if i bought the muffler do you guys think it would be bad to take it to the muffler shop and ask them to weld it up for a few bucks?

Search this exact phrase in eBay and you'll find it...
MAGNAFLOW MUFFLER 18" BODY, 2-1/4" C/O 13255
$53.13 or Best offer. That includes shipping too!

I just called around some of the local muffler shops and asked the price to cut my stock muffler off and weld in another muffler I bought off eBay. They were cool about it. The prices ranged from $40 to $100. I went with the lowest bid and didn't regret it. He cut my old one off and bent some tube to fit the new one for $40. Shop around using the good ol' phone book.

Hope that helps.

I think the drone is worse around town in lower gears. Once on the highway it purrs like a kitten, and you don't really notice it. Seriously, it's pretty quiet on the highway and growls around town. Stock is very quiet, and this allows you to hear your rpm range rather than just see it on your tach. It's a good change from stock, and allows your truck sound like a "truck."

I got a 24" Magnaflow installed yesterday. So far, I like it, but the sound increase isn't that noticeable (yet).

I bought the Magnaflow on E-Bay for $80 and free shipping. I paid $69 to have it installed at a custom exhaust shop (install was pricey, but saving $30 isn't worth the hassle of shopping around for me). I suspect the sound will be better when the muffler breaks-in.

For $150 all-in, I think the mod was worth it.

Part: Magnaflow 5x8 SS Muffler 2.5"In 2.5"out 24" body Part# 12286

I vote for magnaflow. I have the 14" and I love it!

I paid around $150 for the muffler and install at a local shop.
