You bet Tom! Glad you like them! Well see how they perform out in the sand (Pismo!)

Bob,

I'll know here shortly, things look pretty good I look forward to meeting you and the rest of the gang.

Is Dave coming or what?

Dave has been MIA for awhile! Last time i talked w/ him (bad cell phone reception) was that he was (or going to) Las Vegas. Maybe Lilly and him got hitched by a Elvis priest? Who knows! But I'm guessing 'yes' as this isn't a far drive at all.

Tom told me you have kids. Bring them as my brother will most likely bring his (9 and 6). You know kids and the beach---too much fun for them.

Nice, do you notice a hum (louder than a AT tread) when you drive on the freeway? Any other noises associated with upsizing? I like the tread pattern and it really makes your rig beefier. Has you mpg dropped?

Haven't done a whole lot of driving yet, so don't know about MPG dropping, but I won't be all that surprised if it does.

There's definitely more noise, but I don't think its overbearing at all. I'm sure in a week I won't even notice the sound any more.

Yeah, I think I remember something about that...

Actually I checked it out when I first got the 4R; they weren't the same model as the recalled ones, and the local Firestone dealer is run by a complete jacka$$ so I never bothered with it.
As a former Firestone employee, I believe that they are all owned by jacka$$es!!

tires look good Tom!!

I was thinking of swapping my stock Dunflops out for MTR's, but am concerend about the tire noise. The Borla makes a nice hum, but I am afraid with the bigger, beefier tires people could hear me coming in the next county, not to mention the interior noise in the truck on a long drive. I would have to replace five of my tires, so I am looking at about $900. Yikes!

Tom,

I've been wrangling about going up to 285's now for a while- do you know how necessary is the regear- do people necessarily regear the diff's front and rear? I lucked into a 4-runner with the stock electric locker, and don't necessarily want to go through alot of extra hassle for a bit more clearance. BTW- they do look pretty sweet.

Based on performance so far, I am not worried at all about re-gearing. If and when I get a locker, I'll do it then, but I don't think there's a rush.

If you do re-gear, you need to do both front and rear together though.
