I have a 91 4runner and i recently purchased a CB radio antenna for it. It came with a hood mount, but I didnt really like the look of it mounted on the front of my truck. Is there anyone here that can give me ideas of how to mount it on the back of my truck?

I would put it on the front on the hood. CB antennas in the back don't look so good. Just my opinion though.

You get good reception with the antenna on the hood, and that piece that mounts there doesn't interfere with the hood.

Firestik makes a door jam mount that I used to mount between the tailgate jam.

It's worked out really well.

yes... yes ... yes... your truck is VERY purrty. Hopefully one day mine will look as good.. if not better But thanks a lot guys for your replies. I might even try and make my own mount for the back bumper, ive got friends that are good at metalwork... But for now I will just use the mount for the hood that i have.

Oh and for the guy with the nice runner... what kind of roof rack is that? and how much did it cost ya???

The rack is a Load Warrior from Yakima.

It's a great rack, and can be fitted two ways.
1. On Yakima or Thule crossbars. Mine are on crossbars I have had since '88.
2. You can use your factory rails from the Toyota rack and it will mount lower to your roof and not stick up as high also.

There were not a lot of acc. for the rack when I got it, hence me coming up with ideas in the above write-up.
But now Yakima has a lot more stuff out there including an axe & shovel mount, and a Hi Lift mount is in the works so their tech department tells me.

Robinhood150 on the board here has a post that might be of help.

I saw Vince's setup in person that he mentioned above, and it works great too.
It's a real clean installation.

Got the antenna installed (Pic Below)... now i just gotta get the actual CB radio
