The total was 1200 for parts (pretty sweet margins) and 200 for labor. Is that not sick?! Not sure what options I have for doing things on my own, as the guy’s insurance appears to be paying the shop directly. Cladding and PDR, I’ll leave to the experts. However, I’d like to take the money for the rim and running board ($700) and use for aftermarket goodies.

Damn nice, if you want let the insurance company pay the shop and ask the shop for the money
Tell them you can't get it fixed for a few weeks and you would rather hold onto the money.
Once again Sweet

The shop probably wants to do the job cause it is a lot of money with little effort
