A mod question

I have never used my ash tray. And I think it's pretty safe to say I will never use it. Have any of you come up with a cool mod in that area? I'd love to take it out, whic will give me some space, but have no idea what to put there.

Daniel

Yep...#3 vote for change holder. Mine has about $3 in pennies in
it. I need to clean out the pennies, since I usually dig through them
to get to the "good" change.

I use to use mine for coins until I had so many in there that everytime I hit a sizeable hole in the raod(a very common occurance here in NC) it would pop open and spew coins all over the cab. So I decided to scrap the coins and just put them in a bag in the glove box. But I really like the idea of the outside temp. thing that Jason rigged up. Jason did you ever do a write up on that mod?

But if you use it as a coin holder, you have to make it sound technical. Like... Metallic Monetary Unit Storage Area! It sounds better that way! :fireman:

I dont know bout you guys, but i hate keeping change in my car. Too much noise, i hate the rattling. Can't stand any noise in my rurnner other than the radio and the engine.

Yup, coin holder...I even took it out and lined it with felt/velvet type material inside so the coins don't clink around w/the plastic when I hit bumps.

Mine has spare valve caps for the wheels, and misc. small sheet metal screws from projects.

If I need to ground a wire in the cab, I know where to get some small screws from.

I use the compartment to the left of my e-brake for my change. It's kind of deep and allows for easy coin storage. Do most of you all have this compartment too? I am not talking about the arm rest, I am talking about the well to the left of the arm rest and e-brake.

The only thing that I really have in my ash tray are gum wrappers.

I use that space you put your change (cyber) to hold my keys and sometimes my PDA fits in there as well, I don't think we keep anything in the ashtray, i'm trying to get rid of it and use it for something else, as soon as I figure out what to put there.

Man...I really agree with you on that one. Noise in my car drives me crazy! arg. But i use my ash try to hold my remote for my radio and i run the wire for my radar detector around it. works out pretty well.
