Yes mine moans too @ 1800 rpm. I think its the fan clutch. Only does this when cold and only @ 1800 rpm. It does matter how fast i,m going , if I,m at 1800 rpm she moans untill shes at operating temperature.

 

BUMPing this for any new ideas/help?

The noise is still here, and I just did:

tranny flush
coolant flush
new timing belt and other belts (V, alt, ac)
oil change + oil filter + lube
air filter, fuel filter
new pcv valve
and triple dose of seafoam to get things cleaned out a bit.

The moaning is still there and under the same conditions.

Hot or cold, doesn't matter.
Off the gas - no moaning
on the gas lightly at low rpm - moans badly
on the gas hard - no moaning.

please please please post any other ideas. I feel the shlt is going to hit the fam sooner or later.

Steven, lots of good info in that thread. I can't 100% relate to your problem though, since you have the vibration when OFF the gas, where as mine only makes the noise when ON the gas. Also the noise in my truck scares me more than the vibration. I feel we are sharing different symptoms of the same problem however.

Same here, and I am glad someone used the word 'Humming' since I thought I was the only one with the noise. Humming, moaning, all what I hear in my rig.

I will start to track that thread you have started to see where it takes you.
