No, a loose cap will not cause a driveability issue, AFAIK.
A vacuum leak, unmetered air into the throttle body, bad plugs or wires, bad timing, etc. can.

I have a whole other thread going through my list of problems cannot post link right now at work. I am sure you can find it on my profile. Quick queation can low levels of rad fluid cause misfire?
