Melting Headlights?
I saw a post on a different forum warning against cheap "white light" replacement bulbs because they tend to "melt things," I was wondering if anyone here had any bad experience with that kind of thing because I recently installed some "cheap white light replacement bulbs" myself...

i bought cheap white lights off ebay and have been running them for about 8 months now with ZERO problems.
$8 for bulbs that are brighter, and better looking than stock is a good deal to me.

it depends entirely on the wattage...
even "cheap" lights could be the correct wattage. Some of these xenon bulbs out there bump the wattage up to 80/90 and ive even seen 110/120 and when you stick bulbs that big on your stock harness, it will evenutly melt the wires, usauly the ground lead first.
If you want xenon bulbs, check out www.eurodesigns.com they sell the proper wattage bulbs, they are DOT approved, and come with a lift time warranty. Mine have burned out once, and u jsut pop it int he mail, week later, you hav a completely new set. I think I paid aobut 35 dollars.

My cousin used cheap HID look-a-like bulbs in his Toyota Avalon and it started to melt a little bit of the housing. Good thing he caught it early and he switched back to stock.
I think if you go with good quality Sylvania bulbs you'll be ok.
