May be time to hang up the "4Runner" hat...

My 97 has been GREAT to me, however I really need a truck and a bigger motor. So, I drove an 03 V8 Tundra at my Toyota shop this weekend, and should know tomorrow if I can swing it. I soooo want this truck!

Of course I don't plan to leave this site, it has been a wonderful resource for my 4Runner needs. Hopefully we'll be able to grow the Tundra section into something equally as useful.

My last rig was an 00 Tundra as well, had to sell her when money got tight. Man I miss that truck!

Rumor round the campfire is that 07/08 we can expect 3/4 and 1-ton trucks with a diesel option, targetting something like 400HP and 700lbs of torque if I remember. Should be entertaining.

i heard the same thing too. i sure hope it's true. last year i almost bought an F-250 diesel, but didn't because of all the problems they've been having on the 6.0L and ford's being terrible with handling warrenty service. as soon as they come out with a 1-ton tundra with a diesel, i'll be getting one.

It's funny that a guy who says "had to sell her when money got tight' and a guy who says "no money for mods yet" are excited about brand new big HP Toyota diesel trucks... I just found it funny is all.

Just cause a brotha ain't got no money, don't mean he can't dream!

Money WAS tight. Since then I've managed to get out of the hole I was in more or less, and am in a better situation. Besides, I'm able to get this truck for the same payments my 97 4Runner is costing me, so it's a wash either way - may as well drive something 6 years newer!

It's a done deal. I pick her up tomorrow! My dad wants the 'Runner for his business as well, so that one is staying in the family so to speak and I don't have to deal with all the trade in BS. This is turning out to be a good deal for everyone...
