maglite install - but where (yes i searched)
I'm frustrated. Anyone out there have an idea where I could mount my 4D maglite in my runner? I wanted to use the black bar that I saw on most of your all's seats...but my 02 sport doesnt have those on the seat frame.
I don't want to drill into the chassis or mount it on the plastic anywhere, and I've searched through everyone's solutions thusfar...
Any help 'O Wise Yotatech-ers?

Don't remember where, but I did see a pic where someone mounted it vertically, in the back corner just inside the tailgate. But you've probably already ruled that one out too if you don't want to drill in to plastic.
I guess you could just stand it up in your cupholder...

haha! yea, i have a faint feeling that could be dangerous for, uh, my lap (maybe if i had a smaller maglite...the 4D might hurt if toppled over!)
Right now it's just hangin' out on my backseat...it needs a home!

hmmm...maybe it would be ok then. i'm just hesitant to do it 'cuz of rust issues...but if you've had it on that long w/ no probs so far...
did you just use the screws they provided? and what exactly did you do w/ the silicone? Thanks a ton!

Here's another thought....
For some reason I think I may have seen a pic of this before, but I can't remember for sure.
Anyway, remove one of the grab handles, possibly the one over the LR door. Pop out the covers, and undo the screws. In its place, screw in the maglite clamps.
Presto. No new drilling.

hmm. good point. i can't believe i overlooked that option. perhaps ill give it a shot once i rustle up the clips from a store. then if it doesn't look right or doesn't work, maybe i'll try slc's solution in the floorboard.

why dont you pull some carpet up and cut holes just big enough to mount the screws with some big washers to , then mount the mag light holder then just put the carpet back down??
mabey it would work.

I just used the supplied screws. I put a dab of silicone in the hole, a dab of silicone on the screw. The screwed it in
and put a dab of silicone on the part of the screw facing the outside.I guess you could try to find some stainless steel screws, and after letting the silicone dry, get some black paint, or undercoating material and spray over it. No way it would rust after that!

At any rate, I can't remember if the clips have 2 screw holes (top and bottom) or just one, in the middle. If they have two, then you would need to drill a center hole in the clip.

Checked out the link from Roger Brown - if it works, that's an awesome place for a light!
