Looking for some 3.4 engine spec info.

What is the average healthy running temp?

What is the idle oil pressure?

Not sure if the spec's vary by application, but for a 5VZ-FE on a 2003 or 2004 Tacoma:

Oil pressure (at normal operating temperature)

at idle speed: 29 kPa (0.3 kgf/cm2, 4.3 psi) or more

at 3,000 rpm: 245 – 520 kPa (2.5 – 5.3 kgf/cm2, 36 – 75 psi)

No overall or general operating temperature spec is given. However, the OEM thermostat is supposed to open at 80 - 84 C = 176 - 183 F.

Hope this helps ...

On my '97 it runs at 188* to 190* If it's real hot (100*) and running the A/C it will hit 202* but drops quickly when idling with the AC off.

Thats what I'm lookin for. Interseting how the oil pressure is what it is. Reason I'm asking is I'm thinking of using the 3.4 water pump and was thinking about the oil pump in my 3.0 build but if it has the same idle pressure then it is likely the exact same part.

Got another question for you guys. Do you know how much coolant the t-stat flows? I know the waterpumps are almost the same except the 3.4 takes a larger t-stat.
