Looking for a new project Toy
Well I have been on the lookout for a month in the local area for an older Toy with a 4 Banger that will get me to work and back and that I can thrash on. I been just putting way to many miles on my runner lately and it is not too friendly in the gas mileage dept. My 94 only has 120K but 20K of that I have put on in the last 10 months!! I only put 12K on it the first 2 years I had it when I was in England. So anyways I been looking for a mid 80's model for around 2-3K that is not too hashed out. I finally found one today in the wheels and deals. It's an 87 with 180K. Rebuilt 22RE 15K ago. Belongs to a farmers kid who went off to college and left it behind. Single Cab Long Box 5 Speed. I am guessing it's going to have some rust in the bed above the rear wheels. Anything else I should look for on it? They want $2200 which happens to be the cost of a student loan the son has. The price is right and I'm sure it still has some life left in it. I just want something I can take stuff to the dump in and commute the 30 mile round trip everyday to work in. What do you guys think? I am looking at it on Sunday and will go from there.

just remeber that it still has ifs. you would have to swap it, only benefit there would be you already have the power steering box,
and depending on what part of the state mabey no rust.
