looked under my truck to find....

i do drip like 3-5 tiny drops of oil if i park for at least a few hours so its nothing huge but i wanted to see where its coming from.

2 places were wet.

1.right on the transmission, where it connects to the engine. and yes,its oil not tranny fluid.
2.at the lowest part of the front diff.
what do you guys think is leaking?
its not to bad but just want to know. thanks.
its a 22re engine.

Front output shaft oil seal - that's where I'd put my money. Does it smell like gear lube?

The one in the rear of the engine sounds like the main seal.

If its comin down and hitting your front diff, it sounds like the front maint too. Get a 'Speedi-sleeve' from Napa or your favorite parts store to install in there, its easy. That front main shaft gets a groove worn in it and starts to leak, the 'Speedi-sleeve' is a paper thin peice of metal that will cover that groove, and you will be set for another 200,000. If its not comin from there, get one anyway for preventative maintnence.

yoda,

please refrain from writing these kind of "lead on" topic titles. if we all wrote this way, the searched titles and content would be excruciatingly difficult to figure out without having to open all threads.

thus, please just write the question/issue in the title. refer to the sticky at the top of this forum:

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/please-make-your-thread-topics-easy-read-understand-53802/

thanks,
bob

point taken bob,sorry about that.

mavrick, can you tell me more about this speedy sleev,or anyone that knows about it?
how easy is easy? to put in?
so it sounds like it could be 2 different leaks then right?
its so small that i dont notice any oil loss on the dipstick.
if it was a front main and rear main, what would those cost to replace?
i will look at the one on the front diff to see if its gear oil.
i had all fluids changed just 3k miles ago. when i got my truck.
but i dont want to hurt my diff if its that?
does it sound like im good for a long while still?
thanks guys for the help.

Hey yoda, I have the same problem with my 92, but not the one on the front diff. Mine is coming from where the tranny connects to the engine, on mine it looks like the oil is coming out of the oil pan in the rear which is dripping down by the tranny. That is what mine is doing so you might want to check your oil pan gasket, but that is a PITA to change.

Thanks,
Mario

its a stick but the clutch seems ok, well except when its really cold out,and i just start out if i go from first to second its ok but going back into first the first few min its hard to get into first. but this is only for a few min. so its no big deal.

how much would a rear main cost?
