Adding an aftermarket bumber/winch shouldn't be a problem with an added 1" body lift. My only concern has been the famous 4Runner rear sag, fixable with the performance products progressive rear springs.

rear sag is only on 96 and 97's.

You are wrong about the body lift/bumper thing, you aren't going to only install a body lift on the front to make it "look" level, you need to suspension lift the front to "actually" level the vehicle: I'm not talking about the bumper not fitting. I'm talking that if you have a spacer lift front an rear and add all the weight in front the front will sit lower and the rear will stay. (nose down). If you were to have and adjustable coilover you could just adjust more lift to the front to make up for the weight up front causing the nose down, impossible with the spacers and a body lift has no bearing on this and cannot fix the nose down. there are numerous threads here at yotatech that talk about this.

I see what you're saying Keisur. I own a '96 so rear sag is a concern for me. If a full body lift was to be installed in order to insure that proper clearence was available for the tires due to the added wieght of a bumper/winch, what other problems besides visual would having the nose down produce? I guess the skid plate/tranny/engine would still be lower. Am I getting the idea now? Ya, I think I'm getting the picture.

you guessed it, plus clearance in the wheelwell so when you stuff the wheels on obstacles. a properly setup 4x4 is level, not nose down, in my opinion, unless the butt is high so that when you tow something it levels out.
