Cree now makes an led headlight conversion. Just search on ebay for cree led headlight conversion, i recently got mine installed and they perform better than my previous 55w hid kit i had. Plus they are more intense white light than before and have no warm up cycle or bulb to blow or ballast to go out and they are rated at 30,000 hours. They only pull 25w per light so you can run other led up front, i also replaced my fog lights with 10w single led driving lights and they are super bright. Just fyi for fellow off road enthusiast

 

Which kit did you get? I see there are a ton on eBay for the 9003. Is it the 1800 lumen kit?

 

Yes i got the 1800 lumen kit i was a little worried it would not be bright enough but im glad i got it. Much brighter than i expected. I had gotten tired of replacing my 55w bulbs all the time but wanted the same output and these in my opinion are a little more crisp with the light output. You wont be disappointed i also put a set in my 98 4runner that my wife drives but first put 2000 4runner headlight assembly in and she is extremely happy with it now.

 

Correction:
Got tired of replacing 55w hid 6000k bulbs and ballast all time.

here are the night shots with the pic of the corresponding led. This shot is headlights only. And yes the shot below with driving lights only is brighter because they are 2000lm driving lights. These headlights are 1850lm headlights but only 1650 is low beam the rest is with high beam on. Plus i have driving lights aimed a little high i think. got these for $80 per set.

2. LED 2" Driving lights 10w each single led. this shot is of just the driving lights only not headlights and driving. these were $49 dollars a set.

 

3. LED Fog Lights with amber covers. These are the same as Rigid Industries D2 but a hell of alot cheaper and the same construction, i believe cree makes 90% of leds and then they sell to other companies which then mark up. I believe thats what Rigid does because i coudlnt find much diff between these and Rigid except mine were $90 for a set and they want $359 per set for d2 six bulb led. im happy with mine. These are all aluminum very solid units sealed completely. And the covers came with mine which are removable to make white light fog lights, i perfer amber but also have option of white.

 

here is front shot with all three sets on in day time. all are led and total watts is 106 for all three lights running, 25wx2 for headlights, 18wx2 for amber fogs, 10wx2 for driving lights.

 

Mr. Duke you would need to do a headlight conversion first that uses H4 bulbs then do the headlight conversion kit for H4 bulbs here are the two ebay item numbers for example

you can find all your bulb replacement look up at web site called "OSRAM SYLVANIA" then look under tool resources for automotive bulb replacement guide.

Very nice, before long LED's will take over the headlight market. HID are on the way out.

You are also correct that Cree makes most quality LED's and everyone else just uses them. If it has a cree LED that is really all that matters. Same for flashlights.

 

Are you blinding everyone else on the road with these things?

these pics above are with me kneeling down to show their output, ive got them angled down to keep out of drivers eyes, ive been running them over a month now and havent had one person flash their lights at me to say i was blinding them, if i get that i will just aim them down more.

 

Ok cool. I'm thinking about picking up a set, but don't want to blind other drivers.

I agree that LEDs are on their way in.

Being these are so wonderfully priced I don't see the point in hid's anymore considering longevity and power consumption. Another couple years they will get really affordable for all types of styles and the companies that think they are selling gold like rigid will have to adjust prices to some point to compete
