Leaking Hood Scoop

Leaking Hood Scoop
Hey guys, whats up. Good to be back after several long, long days of moving. Damn it sucks! Well, I've got a quick question that I know all of you sport edition owners have experienced. I am sick and tired of my belts squealing like crazy after a hard rain or car wash. I have tracked it down to the hood scoop. It is leaking water. Anyone have a good way to seal this thing up? Later.

Same here. When I did the deckplate and had the silicone handy I unbolted the scoop and tried to remove it. But it is also held on by some sort of clip. I pulled at it pretty hard but gave up b/c I did not want the scoop to crack. I would then need to buy a new scoop and get it painted to match.
I may go at it again some time.

Slightly off topic, but still fits in to this subject, i've been working on a custom hood scoop for my 2nd gen. So far it's a pretty rough shell i fabricated out of fiberglass (still needs alot of finishing work) ut im wondering if i should just mount it for looks or if i should actually cut some holes in my hood to make it somewhat functional. What do you guys think? All my friends think im insane for undertaking such a project (fiberglass isnt easy, and unfortunately i dont have a good ventilation room to work in, so anytime i have to work on it is weather dependant) And my last question (as dumb as it may sound, but i really want an answer) will making the scoop functional do anything for my truck (performance, cooling, etc.) When im done i'll post some pics, cant promise when it's gonna be though
