Leaf spring Dilema!!??

Leaf spring Dilema!!??
Here is the quick story...
I heard a clicking noise on my way home from work on Monday(of this week). Well then I realized my truck was bouncy as hell.
Sum it up. I snapped a leaf in half and one of the halfs speared through the shock. You know....a 2 for 1 deal!
I am having a hell of a time trying to get 1 single leaf. Its the 1st leaf at the bottom of the pack(about 3ft. long). For the time being, I am able to ride my bike.
I have already exhausted all the salvage yards around me.
I have a 99 tacoma- 4x4- v6 - auto- ex. cab.
What are my options?
I dont haul any weight, can i just take it out on both sides?
I getting frustrated. Will any other spring fit so I might be able to widen my junk yard search?
Thanks in advance
Jeff

Kinda wondering what you were doing to break the bottom leaf. Sounds like the spring pack came loose and the leaf twisted out of position.
It is not uncommon to remove the bottom leaf to soften up the ride. It will diminish your load carrying ability quite a bit if the leaf is thick. If you remove the leafs, ensure that the threads don't bottom out when you snug things back down.
Rather than the hit-or-miss proposition of swapping in a donor leaf your best bet would be to replace the entire spring pack. I doubt if a junkyard would sell you the single leaf out of the pack anyway.

Might try an add-a-leaf kit, the Rancho Soft Ride AAL kit has 2 pair of leaves that can replace and/or add onto the stock leaves:
Or, find a local spring shop and have them bend up a replacement leaf.

I'm doing the same exact thing now wiht a 98 tacoma for my girlfreind. I found a place to repair the lower leaf (replace it) for about 200 bucks, a junkyard with a set for 300 bucks and I decided just to order the OME 2.5" lift for like 500.

All pro offroad was recently selling their 3 inch lift 5 leaf packs for 250bucks on sale, id check it out and see if they are still there, its a killer deal for a product with a good reputation IMHO.
