Landcruiser

hey, how much does something like this end up going for? Would it be a good daily driver/trail rig or is it more for the trail due to gas mileage and stuff. Cool as hell though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6443

I used to own one of these--it was a 74 FJ40 with a 3spd. It was a beast--you can bomb through anything. No power stearing and 5000 pounds did make it scary on the freeway--driving at 55 was an experience---if you get one use it for a trail rig. I hope to own another one someday but I would look for one built between 76-84--these have power steering, disc brakes, ambulance doors, 4spd etc... Good luck--post some pics if you get one.

Mine is a 71 also. Scales at 4,000 lbs +/-. Mine has 327 with TH350. I get about 13 mpg, but haven't checked or driven much since fuel injecting. I wonder what "posi" he has front and rear. If the power sreering conversion was done good, it won't wander on the freeway. Mine drives great at 70.

Same year as mine too!

It is an awsome trail rig. The one on ebay looks a little too pretty to me.

These are far better than CJ5's (much, much tougher, easier to drive, not as top heavy) and yes I have owned a CJ5.

A must have is a SB Chevy, Power Steering, and at least 2 wheel disk brakes. A SB Chevy engine is lighter than the stock 2F and actually gets better gas milage too.

Oh and something like that ebay LC ought to be able to get 12k all prettied up like that.

as far as i'm concerned, the landcruiser name was put to rest in 1990.

91+ Landcruisers may not be rock crawlers, but there still very capable off road trucks with Toyota quality, and Lexus comfort.

Landcruiser's are much better than 4Runner's all around excluding value (no offence)

What makes the FJ60's more capable than the FJ80's? In my opinion, the FJ80 with dual factory lockers was the most off-road worthy LandCruiser ever. Sure it was expensive as hell, but when has that ever been a factor?
