land cruser axle into a 1st gen 4runner ???
Does anyone know if a toyota axle out of a 77 land cruser will be ok for a sas in to a 88 4runner. What are the difrences between it and a up to 85 truck solid front axle. and help would be great.

If I remember correctly, there is a difference in the spring perches and knuckle set ups since the Landcruiser axle is spring under and the SAS requires a spring over setup. To properly do a springover lift on the Landcruiser, the axle housing has to be cut and rotated in order to get the correct caster angles.
Here is a page with some info on it:

Width should be right on.
Perches, even if they were the right width would be under as was mentioned.
You get a bigger ring and pinion, but you can't swing a high pinion like with a 79 to 85 housing.
Tough call.

You'll have to switch it from a spring under to a spring over when typically means sending the houseing off to be cut turned.
The LC diff is 9". That's a big sukka.
