Knock Error both banks (Engine Harness Help)

Hey guys, I posted on another forum but did not get a response I am hoping since some of you tinker a little more, I might be able to resolve my problem with your help. I am trying to find in the harness where another ground point might be to a shielded jacket for the gray wire. I am asking because when I had bought my 96 5vz (no egr) I was focused on the frame and did not give the engine a double look over. He said there was a knock sensor problem but I suspected the replacement harness; It was not until after I drove it and saw how dogged it was I popped the hood and the knock sensors were on a bracket on the upper plenum (My bad I shouldve looked)). No biggie, Replaced short harness, put 2 new oem knock sensors in the block from a dealership and both codes still popped up. Pulled another ECU and still the same issue, starts with in a minute or so of driving (I also noticed during this the black wire for knock coming out of the ECU has very faint evenly placed holes on it so I am sure they clipped it at one point to try to find the issue) . I know on the main engine harness side the grey wire going into the shielded jacket (Green or Blue depending on your year) is terminated to the brown wire. While the black wire does go into the shield it is not terminated on that end to a ground.

I am assuming ED1 is just the connector and whatever beyond that is the extension harness. Where does blacks shielded jacket get its ground? Also it is a long shot but does anyone know where in the harness that termination (small circle black) by the plenum ground is? I have not cut that far up the harness yet. All I can think of is EMI is messing it up so thats why I am doing this plus wanted to rewrap a lot of the cables. Thanks a bunch fellas.
