heres the quick scoop on the truck. 31's with a lot of lift so i want to run a bigger tire. I wont be able to regear right away so should i hold off until then or is it manageable with 33's. 5 speed 22r motor 4.10 gears, not sure on axles i have owned jeeps all m life so if someone could tell me that it would help as well. How expensive are gears for these axles as well.

gears just by themselves would be around $350 - $400. That does not include paying anybody to install them if you can't do it yourself. Personally I would wait to re-gear the truck and do the gears and lockers all at one time. My 2 cents

 

well, fortunately what's under that toyota's better than anything that came under a jeep.

both are 8" 4 cylinder style 3rd members.

 

does anyone run 33's on stock gearind with this motor? i had a buddy tell me it sucks badly. He said no power steering and a stick with 33's on stock gears is gonna be terrible. BUt i dont think it can be much worse than 31's. I noticed the difference from 27's to 31's with my jeep cherokee and then when i went to 33's it didnt change much. just gas mileage. haha

 

it will be fine.... i ran 31s with stock 3.07 gears and it still worked, my truck is a carb and a stick.....
