JDM engine help!!!!

I'm swapping my 97 4Runner v6 for a newer JDM 5VZE. My question is: on the JDM motor, the oil filter and oil cooler location are interchanged, filter toward back of motor & oil cooler located where US made trucks have the filter, front side. I cannot change thee around because the bolt for the cooler is to long and the cooler does not seal well enough. With bolt all the way in, I can still spin the cooler around. Would it hurt anything if I leave the filter and cooler on the same location as they were installed on the JDM motor? I only asked because I had to change the oil pickup tube and oil pan since they were also different from my old US motor .

More importantly, will the lubrication be affected in any way by having the filter in the back, but the oil pickup on the front of the motor?

Why not shorten the bolt in question?

This is exactly what I did when I replaced my engine with a JDM. Additionally part of the shank had to be ground down but it worked perfectly. I removed the oil cooler that was originally on my engine.
