Jaos center Protector on a 4th gen

Hey all,

Just thought I would share as there was a thread about the Toyota sport bar.

I went with a Jaos Center Protector R as supplied by our own Jason. Unpacking was a hoot, it was wrapped in Japanese newspaper, I am sure some of those cartoons were funny but I just can't seem to translate

Anyway...

All stainless, fitting took about 90 mins as I was being careful with the paint on the bumper.

Man, that looks great!
It's too expensive for me to ante up though.

More pics from different angles and your impressions?

That looks really good...i have been wondering when those were coming out. How much was it through Jason? Also, I assume it just bolts to the frame. Good job!!

Thanks for the +ve feedback.

I am getting a lot of looks with this as there a relatively few 4th gens locally and none have any mods at all.

It bolts to the frame but I do not believe it is as sturdy as my grille guard on my 3rd gen as the locations are different and bolt sizes a little smaller. However, it is smaller hence there is not so much weight and not so much twisting so it seems to provide a really stable platform for my lights.

The lights are sweet, twin 130W driving or twin 90W gold iridium fog all in one housing...

I got mine from Jason but you should probably check with him on price...I think I got the first one he imported but it is very reasonable if you compare it with the fitted price of the Toyota Sport bumper bar.

I really like the fact that the a'holes who back into you when parallel parking hit a nice stainless protector and not my expensive paint...

I will take some more pics shortly...

David

Hey, looks awesome man!!

Just thought I'd chime in here....... If anyone is interested, I have the same JAOS bar for a (96-98) 3rd Gen, just sitting unopenned (brand spankin new) in my garage. I'm not gonna install it and would really like to sell it to someone who wants to treat their ride right. I also recently got this item from Jason, but circumstances turned against me and now I'm stuck with it. I have an add in the classified section as well, if you want more details.

$499 - and that's pretty darn cheap for this thing...

PM me if you'd like to make an offer and take it off my hands. It's such a shame to see it just sitting there all boxed up......

nrgetic99, I hope you don't mind me using one of your photos for a test. I wondering what you guys thought about it on a 4th gen with the cladding? I think it looks pretty good since I have the the silver grill, door handles and roof rack.

Ok, I was a little giddly about seeing what it would look like on my truck with the cladding. Do you guys think it ok?
