It stopped howling--winch and suspension needed

So my rear is howling bad and i need a comple third with a Tru-Trac built. The one company i talked to answered a couple emails and then just dissapeared. SO--does anybody know who does complete thirds with your flavor of rear end? Looking for a complete third for a 1997 4Rnr V-6 5Spd (stock Gears, Rims (16") and tire size) that i can just drop in--from what i have hearing i dont think i have much time. Also if they were close to Austin Texas that would be great also. I know i have read the other threads but cant find somebody that has been willing to do the above. And yes, the credit is locked and loaded LOL.

i know NWOR offers complete thirds with a true trac...in multiple ratios too...

Just called them and they told me that they didnt have anything for a 1997 4Rnr. Crap--Anybody else?

OK--Called people here in austin and everybody pretty much told me they dont do imports!! Crap1 Or they want to $500 just to set it up. double crap. So it looks like i might just try this on my own. Hopefully somebody knows where i can just ge the whole third. Really i am all ears right now

Just thought of another idea--i will buy all the parts and if there is anybody here in the Austin area that knows how to set them up i would gladly pay you just to Supervise--wouldnt even need to get dirty.

Try calling Inchworm, Marlin Crawler or Trail Gear. I don't remember seeing a True-trac option but they may be able to hook you up. You can also contact Zuk (http://www.gearinstalls.com/) and see if he can do it or steer you in the right direction.

Randys ring and pinion will sell you a set-up, bolt in 3rd with any traction device you want.

Thanks Bighead for the info everybody--called Inchworm and they said SURE--sweet. but here is the funny thing

Gear ratio numbers on the inside of my door jam read something like this

C/TR 751/FW45 A/TM A03A/R150F

So i was comparing it to the gear ratio chart in the knowledge base area and it look like i have a 128mm ring and 3.3 gears?? going to have to do a little research to figure it out

So-update-- i guess i am supposed to be getting a call from inchworm but they didnt call back--anybody familiar with the gear ratio code above? I will call them in the morn and see where they are. Cant wait to get going on wheeling. So now i need a lift and wheels. The bug has bitten!!

Thanks Kyle--if i dont hear back from them then maybe i will have to come out and get the diff. Still not sure what the gears codes mean though

OK--inchworm called and it sounds like i have 4.10's-->just havent seen that code anywhere and the "Toyota off-road" gear chart doesnt exactly match up. Going to take a look when i get home today. Thanks again everybody for the help/advice

According to the chart, you have 4.10. You have to use the second chart, because your VIN probably starts with 4T. The "A03A" portion is the only part you need for your gear code. In A/TM A03A/R150f, the first A stands for axle and the code is A03A. The TM stands for transmission and the code is R150F. Now, there are some mistakes in those charts, so the best way to make sure you're right is to verify what the gear ratio is yourself. Just follow the instructions here. I explained the process in the 3rd post down in the linked thread.

Ok Folks--just got my Tru-Trac yesterday from Inchworm--great customer service thus far. So question is--i should replace the axle seals right? Even though they are not leaking (preventative maintenance) and since i have everything off? Also, is there anything else i should do (will be replacing shoes and drums)?

GEAR oil--this has probably been beaten to death--recommendations, testimonies?

And also got all the stuffs coming for the Tundra upgrade--Feel like a giddy school girl with different anatomical parts.

i would say that it is worth it to do the seals, it isnt that costly, and it gives you peice of mind...

as for gear oil i would go with mobil 1 synthetic gear oil...but i would also make sure that there arent any specifics for the true trac like addiditives and so forth.

ps...how much did you pay, and was yours rebuilt or they sent you one with a core charge and then you sent them yours.

Well folks there has been the perverbial wrench thrown into the mix--the guys at inchworm said that they thought it was a tacoma for some reason and sent me the wrong third (UGGGGGGG). Now i am cruising this sweet Chevy Impala rental car-(cost keep going up) and cant go offroading in all the sweet mud that now surrounds me.

However,

I am so mad at my mom right now for being the part that made me half Irish LOL. I guess we are just not far enough removed from the Family name (Murphy--Grandma)

So, i sent back both diffs and hopefully they can have one back before i have to rent this car for another week. As for costs--i think about the total bottom line:
Diff=950
Shipping=100 (both ways ground)
Tubes of sealant=10$
Rental car=$200
Seals=$20
I would say i have about $1300 into this whole thing so far.

On top of that though i am also doing the Tundra upgrade and New rear brakes--***Brembro also makes drums***

Just a question--Is there a rear seal for the Third or do i just use RTV? Anybody?
