ISR MOD Query (yes i've searched)
I just want to clarify the resoning behind attaching the two vaccum hose's/lines to the new intake pipe.Is it becuase you guys in the US have to for emmisions reasons?
I was just think of putting on a couple of those minature filters instead.it would make the Mod a lot easier for me.I dont need to worry about Emmisions testing.
also i found searching this topic a little frustrating becuase alot of the pic's are no longer availible through some of the links.

If you are referring to a 95.5 - 97 5VZ (3.4) for some reason, one line goes to the PS vacuum, and the other goes to the FPR (fuel pressure regulator). Yes, the vehicle will run with them off, and yes the vehicle will run with them on. Better with them on of course.
Or, are you asking about specific vacuum lines on the 3VZ?

It reduces emissions. The engine does not benefit, but humans do. It takes blow-by and runs it back into the cumbustion chamber for another "burn."
I actually put an open breather on the exact part you are talking about. All it did was make the interior of the rig smell like raw exhaust. I quickly put it back on. No HP gains.

So what about the one that joins down at the bottom of the airbox.

When you disconnect it, it is drawing in Un-metered air which is causing it to stall out. IF you really feel the need to remove it, plug the one on the intake tube, and put a breather on the valve cover.

Maddog look around for some rubber grommets to reconnect them lines into your new ISR tube. My tube is fiberglass and I just used these little 90 degree fittings that the hoses would go over. You drill a hole and insert the rubber fitting and then just jam the fitting into the rubber grommet...airtight seal.. Here is a pic that sorta shows mine.

Got a pic of the gromet by it self.how did you attach them in the hole?
Also most of these pics have a slightly differrent front vacuum hose to mine mine is joined on to a few others down beside the bottom of the airbox, see pic

i was plannig on just using longer tube to hook this up to the intake.

Just did this myself. I put a elbow and grommet into my new intake tube from the valve covers and a breather filter on the vacuum line that used to go to the air box. I don't know if I like it a whole lot though since the breather filter sits just behind the fan and I have noticed that since I put splitfire platinums in along with the ISR Mod and the air box mod the engine seems to radiate a whole hell of a lot of heat under the hood. My core temp seems to be fine though as my gauges all look normal. I may just tap another line into the intake tube for piece of mind.

I may well just do the same & see how it goes.
