Once in a while when I turn right or let I hear a loud clunking noise .It doesn`t happen all the time .Usually when I turn sharply .I had my left front sway bar bushings replaced a year ago .I can`t for the life of me remember the symptoms .I think it maybe the the right need replacing now .

 

On my '90 that noise when turning sharp means the steering stop needs some grease.

If you search 'steering stops' you'll see a few threads.

 

It could also be a CV Axle.
