Sure does, and proud to say that it's mine.

chamberlin,

I have it mounted the exact way as ADH8796 does. He made a post about it. Bent bar to accomodate the different depths of the rollbar and then two threaded shanks going through two of the lug holes secured with a washer and wing nut.

I'm debating now whether to leave the rollbar mounted on top of the cargo mat or to cut the cargo mat around the bar. Decisions, decisions.

Thanks for the kind words.

Yeah, I carry a whole ass load of stuff in the back. I'm trying to cut down though...lol.

I'm just the kind of person that likes to be overprepared for ANYTHING.

By the way, just got done remounting the bar and I'll post some pics in a sec. Should be a lot stronger.

Anthony, that piece of wood works GREAT. I painted it to match the bar. It ended up creaking a lot against the bar itself so I cut up an old black dish towel and electrical taped it to it and its pretty much silent now. I might need to do a little bit more to it but I can handle it for now, and the tire isn't going ANYWHERE.

Have a safe trip!

Alright here are the most recent pics, all that's left to do is do the undercoating and I have to wait for it to stop raining and snowing to do that.

Here is the mount for the rear post (I just noticed that the two big washers are overlapping, I'll have to fix that)

Here is the mount for the front

Flushmount

How we rigged up the spare tire bracket (socket is used as a spacer so it's easier to get on and off)

Here's how it looks right now

I couldn't be happier with it. Now I just have to figure out how to mount the flashlight on it.

most of us up in NE do. we wheel very often, and often with little or no planning. but...it is a pain for us to unload and load everything back up. so it stays. it's actually nice though because you always have anything and everything you will ever need. i just dread the day one of our trucks get broken in to.

Well, I sealed up all the holes last night with some Silicone sealer. I could drive through a river and those things won't leak, I'm glad I did it last night with all this ice and possible snow coming our way the next few days.

Do you think they're cured enough to drive in the rain after 12 hours or so with fans blowing on them?

I checked em and they feel pretty dry.

What do you guys think?

I just noticed this, I usually lurk in 86-95.
I made a mount to attach my spare to my rollbar a couple of years ago. I used 2x2" tubing in an L shape with a plate at the end of the L for the spare to bolt to. I attached it to the rollbar using tabs on the mount and 4 exhaust clamps on the rollbar. It is very solid and works great.
Here are a couple of pics, It is kind of hard to see what the mount looks like. Let me know if you would like to see pics without the tire on.

i hear you on that! there is so much crap in my truck daily, my tools, some coolant and radiator sealer, straps, blocks and flashlight(s) but im really liking the roll bar, dont have room to mount a tire in the back like that though, too big of a sub box. now i just gotta find a roll bar on the cheap side.

Well it said fully cured in 24 hours but it felt pretty darn good. I had fans blowing on all the spots that I sealed all night long and I got it as warm in my garage as I could. I drove tonight in the rain and there isn't really a way for me to tell if it worked or not but all the seals felt fine when I went through and felt them tonight when I got home.

I just got done blow drying the fender wells and undercarriage where the bolts are so I could spray a good coat of undercoating on it. Just got done, that stuff has some serious fumes...I'm gonna have to let it air out for awhile before I can call it a night and feel safe, lol.

Anyway, I'll try and snap a few shots tomorrow morning on my way out to show ya.

Later guys,

Fink

Looks like you do not have enough thread engagement on the nut, so you might try a longer bolt and then perhaps a nylock.

Definitely a mod I would do if I had a 3rd gen.

You can get some bling bling mounts for the roll bar (2" OD IIRC) here: Fourtreks

Whoa, those puppies are stout! $86 for the Maglite Mount

Thanks for the link Brian, the one for the fire extinguisher doesn't seem too expensive. I'll do some more research. I really wish my Quick Fists would work on the bar but I can't see them being very sturdy on there.

If anybody knows of anybody that has the Quick Fists on the rollbar please let me know, I would love to be able to use them.

Thanks again,

Fink

So does anybody have any good ideas on how to securely mount a Maglite on the rollbar? I don't think the Quick Fists will work too well, don't really want to test it and leave the holes there.

I have seen somebody with a Maglite mounted on the bar but I can't remember who it was.

If anybody has pics or ideas let me know, I'd love to get a Maglite back there.

Thanks,

Fink
