Ric,
Can't give you enough thanks man. I started this thread thinking it would only get a few guys interested...instead, it sparked a lot of people's ideas and brought all of em together and thanks to you, we got an answer. It can be done...but it's serious $$$$.
Thanks again man :bigclap:

i know my bumper can handle it, because it is 3/16ths that is reinforced with a 2x2 crossmember, and 1x1 skeleton.
however, i do need to ensure that i look at designs and structure so that i dont add either too much weight to one side or make it so that it is top heavy. i also want to make sure i get a good locking mechanism.

I don't have pics of this because my roll bar probably won't fit that size tire. But I will insure everyone that if you wanted to make your roll bar fit this size tire or bigger it's possible however the front legs of the roll bar will not sit at a 90 degree angle. It would have to be leaned back so the bar would sit kind of like / that on the front bars sorry if this didn't make much since.

yeah i am in this same stage now... i want a rear tire carrier, but i also want to ensure that i look into the most effective way to do this.

Guys, to support Bruce and Jim I did look at mine and if I had cut a bit less of the front legs and slid if forward an inch more it would probably fit fine.
I stand corrected. Sorry for putting out bad info.

Well, I have a roll bar on the way and I should be able to get it modded before class starts on the 16 of Jan.
I'll post up when it gets done.

Alright guys, just a quick update. No pics yet, don't get excited.
I have the rollbar that I got from Wayneraintree on here in the garage downstairs.
I have a coat of Rustoleum primer on it right now and then in the morning I'll hit it with some of the Texture paint (not Hammered, that was going to look to look too glossy next to the tire) and hopefully one coat will do it. This thing was in GREAT shape!
I'll post pics when she's all done!

P.S. - ADH8796 on here did all of the hard work, I give all the credit to him. I'll post some pics of the ingenius (yet simple) way he decided to mount ours instead of doing it the standard way.

i did the roll bar just recently. well, actually, my buddy scott did it for me, and it works so well. i have the 33" spare anchored to the drivers side, but he used a bung going through the front down tube, with the bolt from a spring compressor welded in to it. then we cut off the spare tire hangar from underneath, and used that to hold the tire with a nut above it. the tire barely clears the top cross bar, so a 33" is pretty much max size without getting too crazy with the fabrication. the cool thing though is that a 48" highlift will fit across the top bar perfectly! that leaves the other down tubes open for fire extinguisher and a hard mounted mv-50 compressor. i'll take pics of the spare tire mount tonight or tomorrow. simple and functional.

Her are pics of my Roll Bar in and ready to roll. I have since mounted a full size 285/75/16 tire on my spare rim and it's in the back.
