Try pulling the handbrake while going 30-40mph and see if you can feel it pulsing. The handbrake actuates the rear brake via cable. Be careful, and make SURE you can release it.

No shake in steering = not front brakes.

the handbrake doesnt do much, i think i need to adjust my rear shoes, but i will definatly try it out.

Well i just looked and i do have a leaky ball joint on my drivers side. I do really know what to do about replacing it?

ow twitchee this thread has gone all over the place.

NO I don't see any difference in those 2 Brembo rotors you linked us to- but one has thickness measurements and so on. I used Auto Parts WH earlier this year for mine-pretty sure they were the 25488 and wow I don't recall them being that much. Look around some more. They always got a coupon deal going. I was thinking they were more like $56.

111db that is most helpful your first two lines about towing. Twitchee as he says the Tundra upgrade is likely overkill if you are not towing and such.

111db I routinely advise folks against towing with their Runners-as you say you did it once and would not do it again. A wider track and longer wheelbase make a more stable braking platform things you can't change by much in the Runner.

Please explain the line about the "not since 1968". I have to admit I had not heard the "warp in a cold stream" for quite some time, is there some science here...?

Twitch I swore off the Pep Boys but don't they cover their stuff even this long?

If not consider it a cheap lesson and get a good combo of rotors and pads-I would guess your pads are likely fine but why mess with an unknown?

Start fresh and go Tundra if you really think you need to-lots of guys have done it. Gather up your parts-it's not necessary to go all new and I would venture a guess some other So Cal dudes can help you install it. I would if I were there.

Easy for me to work on other people's rides...

Well, i just adjusted my rear brakes a little and its much better, i can feel the warpage at slow speeds. just slight pulsing. I would like to do the tundra brakes, but all im towing is a jet ski. I can lock the fronts up with the stock brakes if i need to so i think im good. idk what im going to do.
