Independent Fog Light Switch

Hi all. I'm fairly new to this forum..

I was wondering if any of you knows a way to make the fog light switch independent, so that I can use my fogs as my DRL if I wanted. Because now I can only turn on fog lights if the head lights are on. Another thing, wiring the fogs to stay on when I flip on the high beams.. how?
Btw, running a 1999 4runner limited

Thanks.

There's actually a factory fog light switch that came in the 4Runners, Some of the guys here use them for aftermarket fogs to have a factory look on the inside..

Idk how you would take them out of the circuit for you lights but im sure it can be done.

Do a quick search for "factory fog light switch" and im sure you'll net some results.
Might also use the advance search to narrow it down to the 96-02 4Runner and 95-04 taco section..

Good luck and Welcome to YotaTech..

Another method would be to bypass the factory switch entirely (the one within the combination switch on the steering column). You could put "OEM" switches in the dash pots. Then get an aftermarket relay/wiring harness. The switches are available from Toyota, part #00550-35976.
