IM BACK, and need help picking out a runner

Well, its been a while but the 00 4runner is gone and we have an 01 sienna and i am looking for a toy to keep me occupied for a year or so when i might be able to pick up a new taco. SOOO, here is my question, i am trying to decide what would work for me- i want to buy a first gen 4runner and put 33in MT's on it with a 3 inch body lift. Will the 4cyl suffice for turning those in the mud or shall i look at getting a 3L?

Dont get the 3L V6. I had a first gen runner with the 4cyl and it was perfect. On a 85 runner I had 35s with stock gears and it was kinda bad for awhile but with 4.88s it was great.

BTW- pirate bulliten board has really good info for 1st gen runners/2nd gen trucks

Yea, the 4 cylinder will be much better than the V6. And it turns 33s no sweat. My brother in law had 35s on his 86 4Runner.

Either motor will do just fine, but the V6 will have an easier time doing it. I guess I'm just one of the few loyal fans of the 3.0. What can I say, I've got two of them, and have not had a bit of trouble. Plus it runs smoother, and is quiter. It's really just your preference. Both motors will last forever.
