If you spend some time here, you'll notice that someone posts "What's the best lift for my vehicle" about 3-5 times a week. Typically, there isn't much new information discussed. So, if you read some old threads and get an idea of what you're thinking of doing, you can ask more specific, educated questions. If you just post, like you did, you run the risk of only having other noobies like yourself respond to your question, since the older members of the board have gotten so fed up with answering the same question over and over. So, the information you get might not be good. Your choice.

Did you read those other threads?

When I typed in IFS lift, I got 20 or so threads that had some info.

Here is one where jruz explains the theorhetical merits of an IFS Lift...

I think that may have been some of the best tech on the topic that has ever flown around here.

The suspension round-up must have been some good reading, lots of IFS lifts there.

 

Hmmm, looks like I wandered into a JEEP forum by mistake. Lots of hot air about searchin and no-one answering questions.

Remember everyone was once a noobie... And the search function can bring up WAY to much info at times.

Looks like it's time for a "Top 10" questions area. This one, along with "how much lift for 33's?", "what shocks?", "what rear coils?", "engine mods for the 3.0 (include 10 pages of FIPK debate)?", "what CB?", "what backspacing?, "what lights?", and the topper "do these pants make me look fat?"

There is a great amount of info on our threads here. Is there a consensus on which lift is "best"? No. But there is more than enough info to make an informed decision. If there are still questions, PM'ing a member that has the equipment in question will normally yield great results.

Everyone gets told to search with questions like this - I think the resistance to searching is probably what added fuel to the fire.

We finally got info from Ty on what he wants to build (4-5" lift, 5.29's, detroits front and rear). From this statement, someone should have told him that he should keep a dozen CV shafts in the rig at all times, since a front detroit on the street (with ADD no less) will tear up his front end repeatedly.

We still don't know what he wheels - mud?, rocks?, desert? I don't think one setup can do all these. For all we know, he could be from Iceland.

Toyota E-locker or ARB air- locker.

 

If you detroit it, I would go with the new Detroit Electrac (but I don't think it's made for the 8").

If you are planning on wheeling a lot, and don't care about road handling, then spool the rear.

 

There's also that new Aussie locker that drops right in, no regearing, and is only 200 bucks.
