If I were to sell my 4runner...

Mabe move closer to school or change jobs to reduce comute? I am also in college and although I would like to get better milage the 4runner really does what cars can't. I can haul stuff and go off road for camping and such. If you don't need a rig that big then by all means sell it for a more practical car.

Of course you'll probably miss the runner....tough call there.

You can get a used Corolla for less than 10K. I bought my 99 last year with 54K on it for 7K. It's spunky and gets 36mpg with an auto trans. It's quite a bit smaller than the 4Runner, but a whole lot easier to work on, park, and gas up.
Good luck...

Get one with a manual, more fun and even better mileage. It'll feel downright sporty compared to a truck.
(Then you graduate, land some bitchin job and after a year or two, cash on the barrel for the LC of your dreams.....)

Your insurance will be lower too(it shouldn't it?). My little brother has a 97 Prizm/Corrolla, he can get over 40 mpg rolling 75 on the freeway.

Come on guys, I thought someone would have said this by now. Sell your newer 4runner and buy a 1st gen with the 22re. I get 19-24 MPG depending on driving and you still have a 4runner(and much better if u get an 85
) and it will be paid off.
) and it will be paid off.

Graham,
3-4 mpg but i've also leveled out the geometry and went back to a stock bumper to shed some weight so that helps..
Basically I get an extra day of driving on 1 tank now..
