Ideas for Cupholder..
It's true that my cupholder sucks. It truly, truly sucks. I've broken two so far. There's a permanent sticky drip all the way down the dash. I drink a lot of coffee, Big Gulps and oversized drinks. I usually slide the passenger seat forward about 2/3 of the way and shove the cup in the gap between the E-brake and the passenger seat. This works remarkably well. I'm considering upgrading to something like this:
I'm not sure quite where to put it, maybe next to my right leg against the console, but it's worth a thought. Besides the over-the-top console replacement and PVC ideas, has anyone had luck with other alternative cup holders?

no picture but i bought a 99 cent holder from Autozone and screwed it to my floor (behind the 5spd). Cheap. Already kinda broken but if you take the little spring holders in it out it fits a soda can with a foam cooler. =)

haha. I use my dash mounted cupholder in my 97 4runner as a cell phone holder now because the intended use of that design SUX. I use the one behind the center console more...which is a drag

I bought this little $4 thing at Advance called a "Wedgie." It's two cupholders in a piece of formed plastic that wedges between the console and the seat. It's a pain when people are climbing into the back, but otherwise its great. If it gets in the way, I can just throw it in the back.

i think you would get pulled over with the beer helmet...
i use the ones on the back of the center console, or just hold on to it (especially when on the freeway, one hand on the wheel, the other wrapped around a can)
im still looking into building my center console once i figure out this ebrake thing.

I had a couple of cupholders from ultimatecupholders.com back when I had my 540. The guy only makes them for BMWs and P-cars right now but if we gathered enough interest I'm sure he'd design one for 4Runners. Not sure if yota owners would be willing to pay $25 for a cupholder though.
