Nice score. I never got around to selling my Tercel look-a-like wannabe clinometer, so if anyone's still interested, it's in the box in the garage...

I scored this one on e-bay also, it came out of a surf too. It just looks like it belongs (except it's not brown):

Yeah here in OK there's not a lot of altitude change but this summer when I went up to Colorado It changed often. Like driving from Denver to Silverthorne and up Boreas pass. Really it's not very important but it's cool to know.

Altimeter

Before GPS came along, an altimeter and a good topographical map could make pinpointing your location on a road or trail a snap. By the way, you can still buy clinometers with only pitch and roll from 4 Wheel Drive Hardware ($20.00) but they have Jeeps and Pickups on them, working on changing the graphic though.

This one is kinda neat

I would like to have one with an altimeter, but the compass is probably more practical. I also wonder how hard or easy it would be to customize that to be a 4runner and not a jeep. If i lose the ebay auction I will give it a go.

Those are neat, you know your GPS tells you elevation as well. I figure if I roll, I went too far.

Sometimes it better not knowing.

Guys,

I just rec'd a reply from the seller via email:

"I have shipped the following item to you. It was shipped from a
military post office in japan and shipping can be a little slower."

Well at least I know its coming.

Just great! Another thing I have to save up for. As if I wasn't broke enough already.

Hey Bob, just my two cents, but I really like your idea of putting it in the DIN slot - it looks really clean. I don't see any reason why you can't look at the DIN slot to see the information - it's not that much different than looking at your radio controls or speedo. Also - you will probably only be looking at it when you are going very slow anyway.

I keep telling all you guys that RobinHood's version is the best you could get...
Give him a call I'm sure he could "fab" one up for a fraction of the price

Knowing Bob, he'll have a nice new write-up with minute details that could apply to you, the reader.

Finally took a couple of pictures for you guys. I got mine from a
junkyard for free. He threw em in when I bought a pair of bucket
seats for $40 from him. It was brown, so I took some spray paint
I had in the garage and temporarily painted it grey to match the
dash a little better. That was over a year ago. I guess the color
matched better than I thought, because no one ever mentions it.
