I went to the toy dealer and wanted to replace my 99 black 5spd 5vze 4runner with 71.5k on it .The new 4runner is very car like and fast but the ground clearance is less than what I have .Why wont toyota make a 6spd sport with better ground clearance???I just feel like If I got a 05 it would be less capable off road than the 99 I own.And All my cars except for my wifes are manual ,I am too old for the fj cruiser .Any serious input would be welcome .Whats better off road and on road preferably stick than what I have?

 

why do you want to replace it in the first place?

 

Well I kinda have the itch for something new,and Ive owned a 94,96,and 99 4runner I like the look of the new ones they have side curtain airbags (safer when the little one is in the car)but ,maybe I'm wrong are the new ones as capable as mine when the going gets tough?

 

4th gens are quite capable. There are plenty ones on YT that have addresses the ground clearance.

 

have you considered the new tacos? same engine as 4th gens (if you get the v6) and available in 6spd manual
