Question How much $$$$ will this cost

After pulling my boat 300 miles total this past week, my cruise control is blinking and the 2000 Runner won't shift out of park. Some of the terrain was rough but it seems strange that both would quit after I got home???? Any previous experience with this and how much this type of thing costs?? Going into the dealer prepared usually helps with their BS.

It shifts after you pop the release but I will pop the release for a long time before spending a couple of hundred $$$ to fix it. I am under 60K.

I would definately take advantage of that Warranty if you are still within the allowed miles.

Keep us posted!

Ya he is, I think Greenwood is about an hour and 15 minutes from here (give or take). Wonder if there are any places to wheel there......

Dude, if you have less than 60k miles, then it's covered by Toyota's powertrain warranty and it won't cost you a penny...

Like bamachem said...take it to the dealer FOR SURE.

Take it there, tell them whats wrong with it and say that you don't want it back until it is running like new!!!

Taking it in tomorrow, is the cruise control covered under powertrain????? Yeah, GWD is about 60 miles from Clemson and 70 miles from Cola. I moved from the beach so it's taking a little time to adjust. Not a bad little town.

Both the cruise and the non-shifting from park were FUSES!! I blew another fuse and replaced a couple of others and presto ..... both were fixed.??????? I can't believe it was a fuse that controls the brake/shifting from park.

Guess I read this one to late but was going to suggest checking fuses or the brake light switch down by the brake pedal seen them stop cruise from working and also keeps the Automatic trans from going into gear. You know them safety features lol got to have your foot on the brake to go into gear thing
PS: just a thought may want to check teh wireing on the boat trailer it may be shorting out and blowing the fuses is why it happened after you towed the boat or maybe a short by the connector on your truck, just something to check.

It is the boat trailer. Boat lights/trailer lights in salt water = major pain in the ass at least once a year. I checked the fuses when they blew the first time. Nothing. That's what was so screwed up. They weren't blown. This time it was obvious, so I replaced them and it fixed four problems when I was trying to fix two. You gotta love when that happens.
