Paid $15 000 CDN for my 97 SR5 (97 000km) in November 2003 .I think I paid a few hundred more than I should .But I don`t mind paying for the following that came with the car .
Full Toyota dealer maintanance record
2.7 4cylinder hard to find
Brand new tires at 94 000km
Band new brakes at 95 000km
Low mileage for the year
Here in Toronto area the price of a 4runner varies greatly .For a 97 SR5 to Limited the range is from $13 000 for high mileage 150 000km+ to $22 000 for a low mileage 100 000km - .

I got my 96 Ltd from a wholesaler for $9800 (book at 12,500) January 04. It had just over 100k. It needed a good detailing, so I stripped it out (see my pic <--) and a new radio. She runs super smooth. Autotrader.com is a great place. Just be sure to run a CarFax and do your research on the dealer.

I paid $9000 for my 1998 sr5, 4x4, 111k, Auto, pristine condition inside and out and a service record that would put most to shame, but I was very patient (read: had the money and was looking to buy one for over six months) I looked all over central texas and went as far as ~400 miles a few times. I feel like I got the deal of the century

Bought my wifes 99 Ltd Runner with 111,000 miles last Oct for $15,000. It has every available option except e-locker. Its silver with oak leather. The original owner thought it had a lot of miles, so we got it a lot cheaper (at least $3000) than any other Runner in the area. The original owner had all paperwork and used the car for computing in the Atlanta area. The thing was in like new condition when we bought it.

Bought my 98 4runner 4x4 (loaded) with 120K for $10,500 back in March 04. After one month, replaced 2 rear wheel bearings, new starter, new alternator, rear brakes, and fluids changed - $1,500 ouch!

Purchased my 2001 SR5 on June 23, 2001 with less than 2 miles on the clock. After three hours of arm-twisting, I paid $28,800.
The odo now reads 73,200 miles and its been a trouble-free three years.

I think I paid $38k new (i.e. in 1996) for my 96 4Runner Limited loaded with everything I could get on it.
Gotta love it when a company gets bought out, lays off ALL of it's employees and pays bonuses.
