155k (77k of that is ours since we bought it in '06 with 78k) on my wife's 2000 4Runner and literally the only thing that has broken on that truck has been the original MAF sensor. New one from a dealer and it's continued to be problem free. Did the timing belt and idler pulley at 110k and a new battery a week ago.

My wife rear-ended someone about 3 years ago, causing only sheet metal and bumper damage. Didn't even pop the airbags, which almost concerns me, because the bumper was f-ed and the hood and fender got it good too. Can't really tell it had the hood and driver's side fender replaced unless you look at the motor mount, which has a bunch of overspray on it.

It needs shocks and I'll probably do springs while I'm at it (starting to get the good ol' saggy butt) but that's about it for nagging stuff. We couldn't be happier with our 3rd Gen

Just rolled 150k on my '97.

Tune up so far. Probably due for brakes.

Need to see if previous owner did any driveline fluids.

4K is too much for a 3rd gen of that milage. i mean its going to go through a tranny and/or engine soon enough and then youve got a 7k runner with 400k miles on it

any third gen is good for some serious miles given minimal mintanince but 386k means even the radio knobs are worn out. id keep shoping. for reference i bought my '96 v6, with 180k miles on it, last year for 4k

I just bought a 96 from the original owner(today!), its a 4banger auto 2x4, has 164k, paid 1000 for it, and its super clean and runs and drives perfect, ive already located a 4x4 trans with case and solid front axle for it.

If the truck your looking at is a 1999 and up Id say go for it but if its older thats too much. I have a 96 Taco with 386000 and it runs just as good as the Wifes 97 LTD with half that.

227K have done done 2 100k services over the years, no major replacements thank God. The tranny has been acting a little weird but it could just be me.

about to roll 196K on my 1996 4Runner. She's really starting to show her age, cloth seats are wearing, seat belt is coming apart, plastic pieces broke, door jamb rubber seal needs replacing, tip odometer broken, body is still in good shape and the motor is strong. Thinking about getting the seat re-done but doubt I could get a match on the cloth?
