Replace fuel filter, turn on the ECT if you have one, deckplate mod, or just get a S/C.

S/C isn't available for the 3.0...

Not enough info is available to answer this question:
What grade hill?
How long is the hill?
How fast were you going at bottom of hill?
What size tires?
What condition is the engine in?
In Drive or OD?

Sorry....only thing you can really do is turn the O/D off. You can do some bolt on stuff, but the performance gains seem to be minimal and not worth the money IMHO. Pretty much why I'm staying stock(power wise) until something breaks or what ever.

The best option is lower gearing. Our trucks (automatic tranny) came from the factory geared too high for the gutless 3.slow engine they used. Then if you have put bigger tires on, you have magnified the problem. I recommend 5.29 gears for 31-33 inch tires with our trucks auto tranny, and 5.71 for 33-35 inch tires. The real sweet spot for me was 5.71 gears and new 33 inch tires. Lots of power, even in OD with that set-up. Top speed will be around 95 mph.

If you have a manual trany you might just have to think ahead more. Get some speed at the bottome and maintaina high RPM as you go up. That's how I get seed out of my 4banger.

regearing always works....but downshifting (auto or manual) works for sure..if you have an auto turn on ECT and turn off O\D

I find if you get people to shift their weight forward quickly, together, it may go faster if you have a tailwind and you've recently washed the 'Runner.

Or if you want a serious solution, just plan ahead, get more speed downhill and make sure you keep your RPM's high.

Slap on some TRD stickers. And maybe a "Powered By" sticker.

Some manuel hubs might help at tiny bit. You should get em anyways though!

That's just what we have to live with unless modifications are made. Going up the summit east of here (7% grade I think) the most I can do is about 55 with ECT on PWR, OD off and the engine screaming. It gets pretty scary sometimes since the limit is 75 up that hill and everyone is flying past you.

Chop the back off to reduce much un-needed weight.
