How easily does the SC coupler go on?

I am rebuilding the SC snout on my '99. I bought a brand new TRD snout that comes with a brand new coupler to install. It will fit on there but is VERY snug (I guess that is good!). The old one slipped right off.
Do I need to lightly tap on it to slide it on or do I oil it? I just don't want to damage it as I sent off my original snout to a guy in GA to have it rebuilt. It has been over 3 weeks and I have not received it back and communication has ceased. Supposedly his name is Nate Lang (Ebay ID engineersanonymous).

^^same as above^^ I just ordered a coupler rebuild kit from them about a month ago and it took them 3 weeks to ship it to me. I had to lightly tap my new coupler in with a hammer being carefull not to damage or scratch it.

Thanks guys - I used a mallet and tapped on it and it finally slid on.

Yeah, Nate Lang (or engineersanonymous) (or company name EAI) said it was in the mail over 3 weeks ago but haven't seen it yet. He's done nothing but lied to me in the few emails I have received. Address I sent it to is a residence in Decatur, GA so I believe he does this out of his basement. It has been awhile since I have dealt with a liar and a thief on Ebay so I guess I am lucky. My bad for sending the guy my nose cone and not doing it myself. I just don't have time. Luckily I found a new one for sale.

Got the new nose cone installed and it purrs now - no more bearing noise - I can actually hear the SC whine now

How much did the new nose cone set you back? Is your SC the black one or the gray first gen SC?

It was $300 plus shipping. After calling several places, I tracked this one down and it was the last one they had. Not much I could do because I needed it. It is the black SC. Still haven't seen my rebuild.
