2000, 4Runner Limited, climate temp control knob
The knob on the temperature control, no longer moves the temp up and down when turned. Rather, the temperature displayed, jumps all around.

Any suggestions on how to repair?

Reviving an old thread, but I had this exact problem as well, I ended up taking apart the climate control unit and using contact cleaner on the rheostats, so far so good.
