How does Amsoil Air Filter fit in

I have a 3rd Generation 4Runner (2002), and am trying to put in the Amsoil Air Filter and it just does not see to want to fit. There are no instructions on how to install it either. The filter seems to be too big for my airbox. The stock filter is much more thin than the Amsoil.

I got the part number TS-115 (2 Stage). This is the one that the people on here said to order.

There are 2 sides to the filter, one has a brillo like mesh with the words "Amsoil" on it and one has the wire mesh slightly indented in the center. Which is the front, and which is the back? The clips that hold in the stock filter seem to get in the way too.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Squeeze and push down. Mine are kinda indented/compressed at the top. No biggie---its just foam.

Yeah mine are indeted into the top too. It's all good though, your not hurting anything, just yourself by not having it in yet, and feeling the difference. Good Luck, and get on it hard once it's in.

Make sure to wrap it in paper towels and press/step on it carefullly to remove any excess oil that may still be on the filter!

hey...sorry. i forget exactly what it looked like when i put it in. Do you mean the metal mesh goes towards the windshield. I hope thats right. And the part that has the Amsoil label goes towards the front?
