How do you 1st Gen's take your tops off???
How do you guys, especially the ones with lifts take off yer tops???
Where do your est the top and how.
I attempted to take it off on my own and I scratched up the side, when I first got it.
I wish I had a garage, I would build a pulley system to lift it and then store it.
Summer's coming and I want to use my bikini top. Toss me some suggestions.

I've not had much problems with the seal. After putting the top back, I've sometimes had to lift one side up and cram the seal back in, but as far as re-sealing against the outside, I've had no problems even if the seal did not fit *properly*
EDIT: But upside down like runner97 suggested sounds like a better option if you are storing it inside (I store mine in the back yard)

I have been storing in with the back edges (Rear window) on the ground and I lean it up against a wood rack, and I cam buckle it down, so it doesn't fall. I place a thick blanket under the edges that touch teh floor (don't want to scratch the paint).
Good ideas. Thanks

I don't have one but it seems like putting it on a couple saw horses would be a good way to go. It would be upright (won't collect rain), off the seal, and the saw horses fold up and store easily when not needed.

Reading through this thread, I was thinking about how to really store it so it would stay clean in the garage, not flex and be out of the way. What do you all think of this:
1) Measure the inside of the top, from side to side before it is removed.
2) After removing the top, place it on a couple of 2x4s and hoist it high out of the way of any cars.
3) After hoisting the two 2x4s with the top, use a couple of ratchet straps to keep the bottom of the top at the same distance as when it was sitting on the rig, to keep it from splaying out when sitting on the 2x4s.
