How do I wire (3) lights?

Hello all, I am getting rid of my (2) off-road (130w) lights on my grille guard but I want to replace them with (3) driving (55w) lights. My wiring / relay set up now is for only (2) lights. Can I safely hook up (3) lights to that setup? If so, how?

If your relay ran 2 x 130W (260 total) then it should be able to handle 3 x 55W (165) just fine. If you had 1 power wire splitting into 2 for the old lights then just split it into 3. If your old lights had 2 wires from the relay split them both and connect 1 from each to the centre light. That'll put equal current into each wire.

It would be easier if I could draw diagrams, but that's beyond my computer abilities.

Thanks for the input Eric. I will give it a try when I get the new lights.

Ahhh, but the real trick for three lights would be to be able to turn all three on or just two...with one switch!!

I just want to point out that you still will not be able to use all 3 on the road (at least in most states but i think it is all) Virtually all states limit you to 2 auxilary driving lights.

Like me what i did was wire 2 hellas to one switch and the other one and 2 fogs to another switch. This way i cn use them on the road and orr-road.
