Does anyone know where to get a good deal on the insert and hardware for a 4runner scoop hood? I just ordered my hood (not from the dealer) and it will be in this week. My price from the dealer is about $125 for the insert and all hardware. I would like to pay less than $90. I can get a used insert from the wrecker when they have them for $50, but they dont come in often. Any suggestions??

Try www.car-part.com you can usually find a whole hood for 50 bucks usually the hood is no good but the hood scoop is intact TONS of used Toyota parts on there at decent prices !

These are the 3 cheapest sites I've found. It's a dealer only item but these places seem reasonable. I paid over 200 for mine from the dealer but I couldn't wait a week or 2 for it to get to me.

I have a couple inquiries in with some wreckers but probably wont hear anything till this week. It would be so much easier if someone had a complete insert I could buy. I hate waiting. lol My hood will be in on monday but I cant even pick that up till friday since the yard closes at 5 and I dont even get off work till 6. Paint will be next week so hopefully i will have my insert by then

I decided to order it all from the dealer. I literally called about 20 wrecking yards local and through out the us using tha car-part.com and either no one had it, wouldnt take it out of the hood, or only had new hoods. My cost from the dealer for everything was $118. Pricey but I know everything is new and will all fit right. After it is painted next week, I will post pics of it installed

Well at least you got it and you will have it in a decent amount of time!
I am waiting till spring to put on my hood (with scoop) my Jaos bull bar, Jaos rear spoiler and I got one of those fender mirrors...spending a whole bunch of money on my truck but hey you can't take it with you if you "go" so might as well spend it while you've got it ;-)
Can't wait to see the "finished" product !!!
