I like the idea of the locking pin,but what about the 4 bolts that hold down the winch?Are they welded or something to stop it from being removed that way?

i'm going to weld them in place. i wanted to paint it first then put the winch on. of course when i weld though it will probably end up heating the paint up anyways.

You only have to weld one. Also makes it easier to grind off later...

yeah, i know better than to weld all of them on. i'll probably end up welding 2 of them.
