hey all. i was being a retard and fryed both my mtx thunder 6500d's when replacing the fuses. doh :pat: :pat: :pat:
so now i need a new amp for super chaep with atleast 1000 watts rms. anyone got any recomendations. used?? on ebay iv found a couple jbl bp1200.1's for cheap. my friend has a 600.1 and loves it. any comments on this amp??

and does anyone ahve an extra one of those cardon fiber trd racing stickers that comes with the supercharger kit?? iv only seen 2 on ebay for 15 bucks a pop. thanks

How did you manage to kill them both when you were just swapping fuses? That really shouldn't do anything other than spark a little as all the stiffining caps take up charge in the amp....


I'd recommend an mtx 81000d on ebay. Avoid the jbl 1200.1, the preamp section isn't the best to put it mildly....

Another very very good amp would be a crossfire CFA, BMF, or VR 1000d. They typically go for 200-250 used. (And I can do warrenty work for ya. )

sweet man thanks a ton. i was swapping fuses and they sparked so i unpluged the power cables. and then i touched the cables back to the amp they both ignited the amp. only one amp was actually damaged srry that sounded unclear

I have only one of the TRD toyota racing development stickers. It's the aftermarket kind -- the kind with the fake carbon fiber background and the chrome lettering, but I think that's what you're looking for. The kind that is rectangular, right? It's still on the backing, I never took it off b/c I got the real ones with the brushed aluminum lettering and the black background with the S/C. I agree that they're overpriced, but you won't find them for less than like $15 I don't think. It's funny -- the brand new supercharger belt I got costs as much as one of these little stickers! Like I said I only have 1, but drop me a PM or e-mail if ya want it.

Have you tried to power up that 6500d since then? Usually when you cross the b+ and ground in the amp, it'll just blow your main fuse or the amp's fuse. (at least it should because the last I checked, MTX put a one way diode across those terminals to prevent the board from going up... I hope they haven't changed that.)

Check the amp's fuses, then your main fuse, then wire it up (ground first with no exposed ground wires) then carefully insert the positive and see what happens.

Lemme check on the price for a 6500d being reboarded in the event it is blown...
