High Output alternator install.
Is there any tips or advice any of you can give me before I install my new 200amp alternator? The install seems pretty easy on the 3.4. All information is appreciated, and if you know of a write up, let me know. Thanks David

Yeah, get someone else to do it for you. I was lucky to have a neighbor that is a mechanic, bought him a six pack of beers and he installed my HO. Mine did not quite fit perfectly, we had to use a spacer to get it to bolt on. The most pain in the but part IMO was getting the stock one out. There are a few bolts that are hidden and hard to reach near the belt tensioner (sp)?
Good luck. Where did you get the HO and how much did you pay? Mine was from ExcessiveAmperage (200amp)and I paid like 220 or so.

Then just take a look and see if you can find all the bolts. If you have a Haynes manual, that might help with diagrams on where the bolts are, and the proper procedure for removal. If you can get to them all, go for it.

I'll be sure to get pics hopefully. It cost me 325 shipped to my door(it only took him 1 day to ship it out too) with wiring harness and 0 gauge wire from the alt. to my batt. Performance should be great with the addition of a yellowtop battery and two xstatic 800 batcaps. Thats like 1600 farads of capacitance. I'd say i'll be able to run all 4 amps maxed out for a while without even having headlight fade.
