High Flow Cats?
#45
I will be installing a PP Hi Flow cat on my 3.0L 2nd Gen, normally aspirated yota in a week or so. Reason for the change is that I think my cat is clogged. Generally placebo effects dont phase me as im a stupid nutzo type a personality and Im familiar with the placebo effect. Currenty I think my FIPK is hurting power, but then again my cat is clogged.....
Ill post back on this one, just keep this page at the top

Well on my '95 I have a 2.5" exhaust w/ no cat. Just before my engine had its first rebuild the stock cat fell off. I told the guy to just straight pipe it until I got my headers installed.
I know have the new engine, Downey headers & a Flow Master w/o a cat.
On my last Saab Turbo I was cat free & I also had a custom SS 2.5" exhaust w/ a free flow muffler of some kind. It was part of a SS kit I bought out of Canada. It did make a difference on that car. As for my 4Runner I don't see any difference except in the noise level. I am planning on ordering the Downey High Flow cat for it today.

I know a guy that took his cat off and gutted it. Although illegal, its increased the horse-power significantly. Being that it is illegal, I am not recommending you to do it. Some states check emissions during the state inspection.
